Role description
About the Role
We’re seeking an AI & Innovation Systems Specialist who thrives at the intersection of engineering, creativity, and delivery. This role is ideal for a hands-on builder who can design, integrate, and scale innovative AI and automation systems within creative and post-production environments.
You’ll spend roughly 50% of your time coding and integrating systems—developing prototypes, connecting APIs, and orchestrating automation workflows—and 50% coordinating with stakeholders, shaping pilots, documenting systems, and managing rollouts.
This is an individual contributor role on a small, high-impact team, working closely with the hiring manager and creative technology stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and integrate AI-driven prototypes and automation workflows using Python, JavaScript (Node.js), and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain backend integrations and data orchestration across creative and operational systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate creative or operational needs into technical requirements, proofs of concept, and scalable solutions.
• Manage pilot programs—tracking results, iterating on solutions, and guiding systems toward production readiness.
• Document architecture, workflows, and implementation details for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with creative, engineering, and operations teams to embed AI tools and automation into existing media and post-production pipelines.
• Continuously explore and evaluate emerging AI platforms and automation tools (e.g., OpenAI, Adobe Firefly, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI) for practical business application.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, creative technology, or systems integration.
• Proven ability to build and integrate prototypes and backend workflows using Python (required) and JavaScript/Node.js (preferred).
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON data handling, and light use of frameworks such as FastAPI or Express.
• Comfortable developing in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of AI tools and systems integration — fluent in concepts around LLMs, AI agents, and automation workflows (not model training).
• Exceptional stakeholder communication skills — able to collaborate with non-technical users, gather requirements, and translate ambiguity into actionable solutions.
• Experience in media technology, entertainment, or post-production environments.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, experimental, and creative setting.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
• Front-end experience using ReactJS or similar frameworks for prototype UIs.
• Familiarity with Node.js development for building integrations or lightweight services.
• Understanding of creative and media pipelines, including video, post-production, or asset management systems.
• Experience with AI governance, prompt design, or automation orchestration tools.
Benefits:
• This role is eligible to enroll in both Mondo's health insurance plan and retirement plan. Mondo defers to the applicable State or local law for paid sick leave eligibility
