AI/ML Scientist – Customer Experience (Remote | Contract through July 2026) - (aka AI Dev)
NOTE: client is targeting 3-4 years minimum experience after Masters
Overview:
We're looking for a contract AI/ML Scientist to join the SMB Customer Success Data Science team. This person will build and deploy NLP and ML models that improve end-to-end customer experience, automate support workflows, and generate actionable insights from structured and unstructured data (e.g., chatbot logs, support tickets, surveys).
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate as a full-stack AI scientist: translate business problems into analytical questions and build scalable AI/ML solutions
• Design and implement causal models, A/B tests, and experimentation frameworks
• Build NLP pipelines (transformer/LLM-based) to analyze Voice of Customer data
• Deploy models in AWS cloud for internal efficiency and customer-facing use cases
• Evaluate GenAI-native experiences (chatbots, RAG apps, AI agents) using advanced metrics
• Develop AI agents to improve customer health scoring and automate insight generation
Must-Have Skills:
• 3–4+ years of experience post-Master’s in Data Science/ML
• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Hands-on with NLP, transformer models, and LLMs
• Strong statistical modeling and experimentation (including causal inference)
• Experience deploying models in AWS
Team:
3 Data Scientists + 5–6 contractors
Interview:
One 60-minute round with live coding (Python/SQL) and model evaluation questions
Location:
100% Remote (CST working hours preferred)
