Role description
Role: Azure Cloud SME (with GCP Knowledge/Certification)
Location: Seattle, WA (local only)
OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) who also has working knowledge or certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will lead cloud architecture, migration, optimization, and governance initiatives across Azure and support hybrid/multi-cloud strategies involving GCP.Key Responsibilities
Design, architect, and implement Azure cloud solutions including compute, storage, networking, security, and identity.
Lead cloud modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives.
Develop and maintain Azure governance, landing zones, policies, and best practices.
Monitor cloud environments and optimize performance, cost, and security posture.
Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation using ARM/Bicep/Terraform.
Provide guidance on multi-cloud integration and interoperability with GCP.
Support GCP-related activities such as workload deployment, resource setup, and security configurations.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues across Azure and GCP.
Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, Architect, or SME.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services:
Azure Compute, Storage, Networking
Azure AD / Entra ID
Security Center, Monitor, Key Vault
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services
Azure DevOps, CI/CD, IaC
Practical knowledge of GCP services, multi-cloud architecture, or GCP certification (Associate or Professional level).
Strong experience with Terraform, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell, or Python scripting
Knowledge of cloud security, governance, cost optimization, and best practices.
Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana).
Solid understanding of networking concepts: VNETs, VPN, DNS, load balancing, firewalls.
Preferred Qualifications
Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, etc.)
GCP Cloud Engineer or Architect Certification
Experience working in enterprise-scale environments.
Knowledge of DevOps, containerization, Kubernetes, and microservices.
