About the Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join a data engineering and reporting organization within a Fortune 50 telecommunications company. This is an opportunity to support a new executive reporting tool that is being built on top of a modern data platform. The role sits at the center of business stakeholders, data engineers, and reporting developers—perfect for someone who excels at communication, documentation, and clarity in fast-moving environments.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience supporting data, reporting, or analytics teams, but we are also open to high-potential early-career candidates with strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to capture, clarify, and document business rules
• Build and maintain BRDs, KOAMs (Key Operating Metrics), and other knowledge artifacts
• Drive consistent communication across business, reporting, and engineering groups
• Help coordinate feature requirements, follow up on deliverables, and ensure alignment across teams
• Maintain the inventory of metrics, definitions, rules, and documentation tied to the reporting tool
• Validate data outputs and assist in light data checks as needed
• Support the ongoing development of a brand-new reporting application that will continue evolving throughout 2026
• Use Jira and internal documentation tools to track progress, organize work, and keep stakeholders informed
Required Qualifications
• 2–3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar corporate role
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Demonstrated strength in business rules documentation, requirements writing, and knowledge management
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts and general reporting ecosystems
• Basic SQL familiarity (ability to read and interpret simple queries)
• Experience working with Jira or similar task management tools
• Ability to work collaboratively with data engineers, ETL developers, reporting teams, and business partners
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Experience in BI, reporting, or data warehouse environments (Redshift, GCP, Azure, Teradata, Oracle, etc.)
• Exposure to MicroStrategy or similar reporting technologies
• Background working with ETL, dashboards, or data validation workflows
• Prior experience building or supporting executive-facing reporting tools
Project Overview
You will support the next iteration of a newly launched executive reporting platform, driving structure and documentation across a multi-phase development cycle. This tool has just completed its initial release, and the team is now adding new features, refinements, and capabilities throughout 2026. The role is development-focused, not support/BAU.
