BI Developer I
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Fully Remote)
Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST
Compensation: $50/HR to $57/HR (Non-Exempt)
Position Overview:
On behalf of our client, a leading private university in Los Angeles, CA, we are seeking a BI Developer I to join their Medical Enterprise team. This role supports the development, testing, and implementation of business intelligence solutions that drive operational and clinical decision-making. Working under the guidance of senior developers and departmental leadership, the BI Developer I will design dashboards, produce reports, support data extraction and transformation needs, and ensure the reliability and accuracy of data across systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau, strong SQL skills, and an analytical mindset that supports problem-solving across integrated platforms and workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop, test, and deploy dashboards using SDLC methodology
β’ Create and maintain documentation, including functional requirement documents and dashboard mock-ups
β’ Produce routine and ad hoc reports and provide data extracts for various departments
β’ Manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines in a highly technical environment
β’ Partner with internal users, technical teams, and vendors to resolve issues, fulfill requests, and support system functionality
β’ Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism
β’ Participate in on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field; or 5 years of relevant IT or business support experience without a degree
β’ Minimum 2 years of experience in BI reporting design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
β’ At least 6 months of experience with Power BI and Tableau
β’ Proficiency with SQL, including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Cerner
β’ Experience with database services and BI technologies such as Tableau and Power BI
β’ Experience with database systems, system design, capacity planning, and capacity management
