Business Intelligence Developer

BI Developer Hybrid - St. Louis, MO Terms: Contract through the end of 2026 Rate: $65-$72/hr W2 (No C2C or 1099 is available for this position) We’re looking for a BI Developer to help design, build, and support analytics solutions that power business decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning dashboards end-to-end, working closely with stakeholders, and building scalable data models in a modern cloud data environment. What You’ll Do • Design, develop, and maintain robust data models that support complex business reporting and analytics needs • Build and enhance Tableau dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insights • Work with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery and/or Amazon Redshift), managing large datasets and optimizing query performance • Develop and support ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity from source systems through reporting • Troubleshoot issues holistically across the analytics stack — from the database layer through Tableau and downstream consumers • Create automations and custom solutions to improve data processing, reporting efficiency, and scalability • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions • Operate independently on moderately complex initiatives while managing priorities in an Agile environment What You’ll Bring • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience • 3–5 years of experience in BI development, analytics engineering, or a similar role • Strong experience with data modeling for analytics and reporting use cases • Hands-on experience with BigQuery and/or Amazon Redshift • Proficiency in Tableau for dashboard development and data visualization • Experience building or supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and extracting data from multiple source systems • Solid understanding of database concepts, performance tuning, and maintenance • Strong communication skills and comfort working as a bridge between technical teams and business users Nice to Have • Experience using the Tableau REST API for automation or integrations • Exposure to database upgrades, patches, or platform improvements • Agile experience (Scrum) and familiarity with JIRA and Confluence • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities Why Join • High visibility role with real impact on business decisions • Opportunity to own analytics solutions end-to-end • Modern cloud data stack with room to influence and improve how data is delivered • Collaborative team environment that values clear communication and thoughtful problem-solvi
