Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Cisco SD-WAN Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support enterprise-wide SD-WAN solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network architecture, security, and cloud integration, with a focus on Cisco technologies. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining SD-WAN infrastructure to ensure optimal network performance, security, and high availability across diverse environments. The SME will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network support, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop best practices aligned with industry standards such as ITIL and SDLC. Responsibilities Looking for a Cisco SD-WAN expert with 8+ years of experience who possesses deep, architectural-level knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing complex Cisco Software-Defined Wide Area Networks. Relevant Certifications: Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise SD-WAN Implementation Achieved by passing the Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (300-415 ENSDWI) exam. CCNP Enterprise Certification CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure Unlike an engineer who might focus primarily on implementation and support tasks, an expert leads strategic planning, optimizes, such as the CCNP Enterprise with the SD-WAN specialization. Experts often hold or are pursuing this highest level of technical certification, demonstrating mastery on a global scale. Cisco SD-WAN expert is an authoritative figure who can lead an organization through its entire SD-WAN lifecycle, ensuring an agile, secure, and high-performing network infrastructure. Architectural Design and Strategy: An expert can design complex, global SD-WAN network topologies, develop robust IP plans, and strategically migrate an organization from legacy WANs to Cisco SD-WAN solutions. Deep Technical Proficiency: They have mastery of core networking principles and advanced knowledge of:Routing Protocols: In-depth understanding of interior and exterior routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and how they integrate with the SD-WAN overlay network. Security: Expertise in implementing and maintaining comprehensive security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, end-to-end segmentation, and integrating with SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) solutions like Cisco Umbrella, Zscaler, or Prisma Access. Policy Implementation: Mastery of advanced control and data policies, Application Quality of Experience (AppQoE), and Quality of Service (QoS) to ensure application performance and reliability. Cloud Integration: Seamlessly extending the SD-WAN fabric into public cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. Troubleshooting and Optimization: Possesses advanced problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving complex, intermittent network issues and proactively optimizing network performance using AI-powered insights and analytics. Automation and Programmability: Utilizes network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) to automate configurations, monitoring, and management tasks, reducing operational complexity. Business Acumen and Leadership: Can articulate the business benefits and value of Cisco SD-WAN to stakeholders and C-level executives. They often act as technical leads, mentor junior engineers, and create comprehensive documentation and operating procedures.
