Role description
Our client, a leading high-performance engineering company in the UK, is looking for a Senior Computational Geometry Engineer on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on developing and optimising CAD and 3D geometry pipelines, including digital twins, 3D part design, and simulation workflows. The contract offers competitive day rates and flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements. Contract day rate: £600 - £700 per day. Key responsibilities • Develop and optimise algorithms for CAD and 3D geometry pipelines. • Support the creation and maintenance of digital twin components. • Work on mesh generation, solid modelling, and geometry processing tasks. • Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure geometry tools meet technical requirements. • Establish best practices and standards for computational geometry workflows. • Assist with visualisation and rendering of complex 3D models. Required skills and experience • Strong experience in computational geometry, CAD software, or 3D modelling. • Proficiency with geometry kernels, solid modelling, B-rep, mesh generation, and related algorithms. • Experience with digital twin frameworks, 3D pipelines, or simulation workflows. • Strong programming skills (C++, Python, or similar). • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality solutions on a contract basis. Desirable skills • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or high-performance engineering environments. • Familiarity with OpenCascade or other geometry libraries. • Exposure to rendering pipelines or visualization of complex 3D geometries. • Experience with cloud-based CAD workflows.
