(Please no third-party subcontractor inquiries) Job Title: Data Analyst – Sustainability Location (Locals Only): Chicago, IL (onsite 3 days/week required) Hourly & Salary Range: $35-40/hr W2 Duration: Contract (one year with possible conversion to perm) Our client is seeking a Data Analyst with a strong background in sustainability finance to support utility data accuracy and cost optimization efforts. This role focuses on managing large, complex datasets related to utility spend and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with utility invoices and a strong analytical mindset. You will play a key role in ensuring data integrity, supporting reporting needs, and driving data-informed decisions. This position requires collaboration across finance, real estate, and sustainability teams. The role is based in Chicago, IL with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). What’s the Job? • Analyze, validate, and input utility invoice data across electric, gas, water, and waste. • Perform data cleansing, normalization, and quality assurance on large datasets. • Build dashboards and reports to communicate insights to internal stakeholders. • Support sustainability reporting, including energy usage and emissions tracking. • Ensure data integrity, documentation, and compliance with internal controls. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and utility providers. What’s Needed? • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Sustainability, or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or similar roles. • Experience working with utility invoices and utility data. • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros). • Experience with tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, or Tableau. • Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills. • Experience in sustainability, energy management, or ESG (Environmental Social Governance) reporting.
