Role description
JOB TITLE: Data Analyst
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: ~3-5 Month Contract (potential to convert to a Permanent Position)
WORK HOURS: Full Time / 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Must be based in Chicago, IL area (role is REMOTE)
EQUIPMENT/ ACCESS: Equipment and access provided by client upon start
Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Data Analyst with strong ETL and Python experience to support ongoing work in SaaS space.
This role will take on day-to-day ETL and order-processing workloads. The ideal candidate is a strong βPython data coderβ who is highly capable with data handling, transformation, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Perform daily ETL and data pipeline tasks for electronic market order processing
β’ Work with single input/output transaction files to ensure accurate and consistent order data transformation
β’ Write custom Python functions and create objects using object-oriented programming principles
β’ Conduct heavy testing and validation (βif it works, it passesβ) to ensure data accuracy and file integrity
β’ Execute batch processing procedures (non-real-time), working through input files until correct output files are produced
β’ Collaborate internally to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and meet data processing deadlines
β’ Document processes, communicate updates clearly, and provide status reports as needed
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Experience in a Data Analyst, ETL Analyst, or similar data-focused role
β’ Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data validation, and data transformation best practices
β’ Strong Python skills with the ability to write functions, create objects, and structure code using OOP
β’ Proficiency with Pandas for data manipulation and analysis
β’ Experience using JupyterLab / Jupyter Notebook
β’ Familiarity with Amazon S3 for cloud-based object storage and file management
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills
β’ Ability to work independently with a βdoerβ mentality and strong ownership of outcomes
