Role description
I am looking for a Data Analytics / AI Specialist for a long-term federal government client. This is open to US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.
Project Description:
Responsible for continuously identifying and executing on opportunities to transform how SSC conducts its internal operations and enhancing the acquisition readiness of the SSC workforce. The Client recognizes a need for agile, modern, and effective business practices to rapidly deliver advanced space capabilities ahead of our adversaries. Internal and external collaboration, innovative thought, and embracing acceptable risk are key to this vision and transforming how we work.
Required Skills:
β’ Must have an active Secret Clearance to be considered
β’ Must be able to support onsite in-office in Los Angeles (El Segundo) 5x a week
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar (considerations for substitution of relevant work experience)
β’ 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data visualization, and data science (e.g., algorithm development, data analysis, NLP, etc.)
β’ Demonstrated knowledge of advanced data analytics, data visualization and business intelligence principles, and relevant tools (e.g., R, Python Tableau, PowerBI)
β’ Demonstrated experience leading the development of advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to enable key mission outcomes
β’ Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML solutions to real-world problems, including developing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for rapid prototyping and deployment.
β’ Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and frameworks, with the ability to select and implement appropriate models for diverse use cases.
β’ Strong written and verbal/communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to various stakeholders and audiences"
Preferred Skills:
β’ Master's or other advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
β’ Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) AI landscape, including relevant policies, ethical considerations, and security requirements for AI adoption.
β’ Experience managing the lifecycle of AI solutions, including evaluation, integration, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement within complex organizational environments.
β’ Experience in Palantir or Dashboarding Tools or automating processes using Power Automate.
β’ Ability to assess and recommend AI technologies, platforms, and tools to meet mission objectives and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
β’ Excellent analytical skills with extensive experience in analyzing data and providing strategic recommendations.
β’ Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.
β’ Agile development experience along with related technologies
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
β’ Experience with data engineering processes, including ETL, data integration, and data pipeline development.
β’ Knowledge of human centered-design principles and UI/UX best practices for data visualization
β’ Proven ability to design and implement scalable architectures and robust access control mechanisms.
β’ Familiarity with DevOps practices for machine learning (MLOps) and tools like Databricks MLFlow.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the analytical efforts and delivering high-quality insights to support our clientβs strategic objectives. You will be involved in the full spectrum analytic technical support to mission operations: requirements collection and refinement, translating user requirements into technical requirements, conducting exploratory data analysis, model development, selection, and evaluation, identifying insights from analytical products and then communicating those results to a nontechnical audience. You will be part of a dynamic team environment that will support data analysis and visualization, process improvements, business innovation, and workforce modernization.
β’ Establish advanced analysis and data visualization methodologies, models, and tools to derive mission outcomes and impacts
β’ Identify and process raw data, trends, analysis, and assessments in order to aggregate disparate information, leveraging both analytic and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
β’ Develop AI/ML models, as needed, with attention to model accuracy
β’ Execute data science methods using python or similar libraries for Data Cleaning/Wrangling, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization while delivering in an Agile environment
