Location: Hybrid, Bellevue WA onsite location
Pay Range: $45-60/hr
We have an urgent need for a client in Bellevue, WA, for an experienced Data/BI Engineer to support migration of legacy systems to SaaS products. Our client is driven by a passion for technology and execution, aiming to help businesses streamline their operations and achieve stronger, more profitable models. Ideal candidate has experience and passion for solving business problems through data/analytics and has worked deeply with Microsoft and SQL-based data scripts.
Job Requirements:
• Data Migration Leadership: Lead the migration of data from legacy systems to SaaS products. This involves developing SQL-based data scripts, conducting data audits, and acting as the primary point of contact for internal teams and clients throughout the migration.
• Data Assessment: Analyze data from multiple sources, such as Excel, SQL Server, and SaaS applications, to understand data structures, dependencies, and quality.
• Tool Utilization: Use data migration tools and technologies, including ETL tools, database migration services, AI, and custom scripts, to facilitate smooth migrations.
• Migration Execution: Execute data migrations from on-premises to cloud databases and across SaaS platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Data Integration: Clean, join, and transform data from diverse sources to support accurate data analytics.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct extensive testing and validation to ensure migrated data is accurate, consistent, and functional in its new environment. Resolve any issues during the migration process, maintaining high data quality.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of integration procedures, configurations, and data structures for stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, project managers, and vendors to ensure alignment with project goals and technical requirements. Provide technical support and guidance during the migration.
• Data Security: Follow best practices for data security and compliance, implementing safeguards to protect sensitive data throughout migration.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in data integration and transformation
• Experience in data analytics and visualization techniques
• Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for data manipulation and transformation
• Experience in the Microsoft Azure environment (Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Data Factory, or equivalent platforms) is required
• Knowledge of Python, Scala, or Spark for data processing within Azure Synapse is a plus
• Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
