Job Description Senior Developer / Data Engineer (Oracle PL/SQL & Payments Data Platform)Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Senior Developer / Data Engineer to support and modernize a critical enterprise data platform supporting payments, treasury, analytics, and AI initiatives. This role will focus heavily on Oracle PL/SQL development, data modeling, performance optimization, and the creation of scalable data solutions that enable operational reporting, advanced analytics, and emerging AI capabilities. The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor who enjoys solving complex data challenges, optimizing enterprise-scale platforms, and working closely with business and technology stakeholders in a fast-paced Agile environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop, enhance, and maintain the GWBars data platform utilizing Oracle PL/SQL. • Design, build, and optimize data models, data transformations, and reporting structures supporting operational and analytical workloads. • Modernize existing data architecture by reducing duplicate data models, improving performance, and implementing reusable data abstractions. • Support enterprise data deliveries consumed by analytics, reporting, and AI teams. • Participate in proof-of-concept initiatives involving data virtualization, abstraction layers, and AI-driven reporting capabilities. • Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and database design improvements. • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions. • Leverage modern development tools, automation, and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve productivity and delivery speed. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Database Developer, ETL Developer, or related role. • Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Database and advanced PL/SQL development. • Experience developing stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and complex SQL queries. • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and relational database design. • Experience optimizing database performance and designing scalable data solutions. • Experience working within Agile development environments. • Ability to troubleshoot complex data and system issues across multiple applications. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with data virtualization or abstraction technologies such as Starburst. • Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, or AI/ML data platforms. • Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns and common data models. • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and distributed data environments. • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and automation. Payments & Treasury Domain Experience (Highly Preferred)Candidates with experience supporting payments, treasury, or commercial banking environments are strongly preferred. Desired domain knowledge includes: • Real-Time Payments (RTP) • ISO 20022 messaging standards • pain.001, pain.008, pain.009, and related payment message formats • Treasury and corporate payment processing workflows • Financial transaction data models and payment lifecycle processing Desired Characteristics • Hands-on technical contributor who enjoys coding and solution development. • Strong attention to performance, scalability, and maintainability. • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies. • Proactive and collaborative team player. • Able to balance tactical delivery with long-term platform modernization goals. • Demonstrates strong interview-to-resume consistency through real-world project experience.
