Role description
Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Data Engineer / Teradata & Hadoop Developer (Charlotte) to join their team. As a Data Engineer / Teradata & Hadoop Developer (Charlotte), you will be part of the Data Analytics Team supporting mobile and web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Data Engineer / Teradata & Hadoop Developer (Charlotte) Location: Charlotte, NC (800 W Trade Street) What's the Job? โ€ข Design, develop, and deliver data integration, cleaning, transformation, and control solutions for analytics data systems. โ€ข Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Owners, and other data engineers to implement data requirements and troubleshoot issues. โ€ข Develop complex scripts and contribute to data pipelines that support faster, data-informed decision-making. โ€ข Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and data quality controls. โ€ข Document deployment, maintenance, and support procedures, ensuring adherence to team standards and best practices. What's Needed? โ€ข Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. โ€ข 7+ years of experience as an Analyst or Developer with a focus on data engineering. โ€ข 5+ years of advanced SQL experience and understanding of relational databases. โ€ข 3+ years of experience working with Teradata and utilities (BTEQ, TPT, etc.). โ€ข Experience with Pyspark, Impala/Hive, and Agile software delivery practices.
