Job Title: Data Scientist (Contract) - Supply Chain Focus Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite) Contract Type: 6-12 months (with potential for extension) Industry: Supply Chain / Logistics / Operations About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist for an onsite contract role in San Francisco. This position is ideal for candidates who have a passion for solving complex business problems through data, particularly within supply chain, logistics, or operational domains. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze, model, and interpret data to drive critical business decisions. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and analytics teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions. • Build, deploy, and maintain predictive models and analytical tools. • Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support business strategies. • Develop and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data validation frameworks. • Visualize findings and present results to stakeholders, making complex insights understandable and impactful. • Assist in the development and refinement of KPIs and operational metrics. • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and supply chain analytics. Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in a data scientist or data analyst role, ideally with exposure to supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or operations. • Strong programming skills in Python or R; experience with SQL is required. • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical modeling. • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar). • Experience working with large datasets and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus. • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Nice to Have: • Previous experience working in a supply chain or logistics-focused environment. • Experience with optimization techniques, demand forecasting, or inventory modeling.
