Role description
Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is looking for a Data Scientist to design and maintain robust data infrastructure supporting advanced analytics and forecasting for residential energy and utility applications. This role focuses on building scalable pipelines and ensuring high-quality data for time-series modeling and predictive insights. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines for large-scale time-series datasets (e.g., energy consumption, HVAC usage) β€’ Implement data models and storage solutions for structured and unstructured data, leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) β€’ Collaborate with Data Scientists to enable efficient model training and deployment for forecasting and anomaly detection β€’ Ensure data integrity, governance, and security across all systems β€’ Work with IoT and smart home data streams to support real-time analytics Requirements β€’ 5+ years in data engineering or related roles β€’ Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) β€’ Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Delta Lake) β€’ Familiarity with time-series data processing and storage optimization β€’ Knowledge of residential energy or utility datasets and IoT integration The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
