Role description
CSI Companies is seeking an experienced Microsoft Databricks Engineer to support enterprise data engineering initiatives in a large scale environment. This role focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines supporting cloud data platforms and delivering high quality data solutions.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands on data engineer who has strong experience with Databricks and modern data engineering tools and is comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
You will design and build scalable data solutions while ensuring data quality governance and performance across systems.
Hours: Standard business hours
Location: Onsite in Cincinnati Ohio 5 days per week
Pay: $45–55/hr
Position Type: Consultant
Work Authorization
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible for W2 employment. No sponsorship and no corp to corp arrangements are available.
What you will do
• Design build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks and related tools
• Develop ETL and ELT processes to support data integration and analytics
• Work with SQL Python and Spark to process and transform large data sets
• Support data platform operations within cloud environments
• Apply data modeling and database design principles across structured and unstructured data
• Ensure data quality governance and security best practices are followed
• Support workflow orchestration using tools such as Airflow or Luigi
• Organize data using modern architectural patterns including medallion layering
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Document processes and support ongoing improvements
What we are looking for
• 6 or more years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
• Strong hands on experience with Databricks
• Experience with SQL Python Spark and data processing frameworks
• Experience designing and building ETL or ELT pipelines
• Experience working in cloud data platforms such as Azure with additional exposure to GCP
• Strong understanding of data modeling data architecture and database design
• Knowledge of data governance security and quality practices
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Luigi
• Strong problem solving communication and documentation skills
Nice to have
• Experience with Hadoop or distributed data systems
• Familiarity with data mesh or decentralized data architecture concepts
• Experience supporting large scale enterprise data platforms
