Location: NYC, NY Duration: 12 Plus Months Key responsibilities • Design and Implement FIX Gateways: Developing applications that use the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol to connect with major commodity exchanges and other trading venues. • Support Live Trading Strategies: Building and maintaining high-performance applications that enable real-time order routing, price subscriptions, and fill handling for live trading. • Collaboration and Optimization: Working with traders and support teams to analyze production issues and enhance system performance. • FIX Onboarding and Configuration: Assisting with the onboarding and configuration of FIX connections for new trading counterparties. • Technology Stack: Typically involves working with general programming languages (like Python, Java, C++, .NET), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and version control systems (GitLab). • Troubleshooting: Analyzing stack traces, core dumps, and production incident reports to resolve issues. • Technical Support: Providing technical support to clients and vendors using industry-standard protocols for e-trading. Essential skills and experience • FIX Protocol Expertise: A deep understanding of the FIX protocol and its various versions (e.g., FIX 4.2, 4.4, 5.0). • Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, .NET). • Experience with Trading Systems: Familiarity with order routing, execution management systems (EMS), and order management systems (OMS). • Distributed Systems Knowledge: Experience in developing components within distributed systems. • Networking Fundamentals: Understanding networking and network protocols is beneficial. • Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is increasingly important. • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
