Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer in Louisville, KY. Summary: We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of enterprise cloud infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in shaping scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments across our organization. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in Google Cloud (GCP preferred), strong automation skills using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a modern understanding of cloud architecture and security. Key Responsibilities:
β’ Architect, deploy, and manage resilient cloud environments using GCP, AWS, or Azure
β’ Automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
β’ Monitor and tune cloud systems for performance, availability, and cost efficiency
β’ Apply industry-standard cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network controls
β’ Provide Tier 3 support for cloud-related issues, working cross-functionally to resolve infrastructure and application challenges
β’ Document infrastructure designs, procedures, and workflows; Produce periodic cloud usage and cost reports
β’ Collaborate across DevOps, Development, and Operations to align cloud strategies with business goals
β’ Research emerging cloud technologies and make recommendations to improve infrastructure and operations
Requirements
β’ 8+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure architecture
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure
β’ Expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
β’ Proficient in scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
β’ Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools and logging platforms
β’ Working knowledge of cloud security concepts, IAM, encryption, and compliance
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as:
β’ Google Associate Cloud Engineer
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
