Head of Release Planning-Remote (2/3 days per month in London)-Inside IR35
We're looking for an experienced Head of Release Planning to lead and shape a Release Management function. This is a critical leadership role, ensuring the safe, seamless, and timely delivery of change across the clients technology estate-spanning major programmes, business-critical services, and complex multi-supplier environments.
What you'll be doing:
β’ Leading the Release Management Team, overseeing planning, rehearsals, go/no-go checkpoints, and post-implementation reviews for all change plan projects.
β’ Managing the planning Team, responsible for dependency and integration planning for production change.
β’ Overseeing complex, multi-layered change activities including shared infrastructure, code deployments, data migrations, and batch rescheduling.
β’ Ensuring robust governance and controls for delivery into production, with clear quality criteria and reversion plans in place.
β’ Driving operational excellence through governance meetings and cross-functional collaboration to deliver end-to-end successful services.
β’ Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, gaining alignment and sponsorship for release strategies.
β’ Managing third-party support teams and suppliers, ensuring accountability through clear governance and effective escalation where required.
β’ Developing and communicating a clear vision and strategy for the Release Management function that meets the evolving needs of digital and smart platforms.
β’ Owning and evolving policies, procedures, and standards for release governance, while promoting process education and adoption across IS.
