Role description
One of Indy's top employers is seeking a motivated and analytical Data Analyst with HR experience to support reporting, workforce analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This role will partner closely with Human Resources and business leaders to develop reports, dashboards, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has experience working with HR data, strong SQL skills, and expertise in Power BI.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain HR dashboards, reports, and analytics using Power BI
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate HR data
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting requests related to workforce metrics
• Analyze trends in headcount, turnover, recruiting, retention, attendance, compensation, and other HR KPIs
• Partner with HR leadership and business stakeholders to identify reporting needs and opportunities for process improvement
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across HR reporting systems
• Respond to employee and leadership requests related to HR reporting and analytics
• Assist with HR data audits and compliance reporting
• Create documentation for reports, dashboards, and reporting processes
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, HR Analyst, or HR Analytics role
• Strong SQL experience
• Experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI
• Experience working with HR or workforce-related data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
• Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, UKG, ADP, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, etc.)
• Knowledge of HR metrics and workforce analytics best practices
• Experience with data visualization and storytelling
• Familiarity with data governance and reporting automation
