Role description
Qualifications: β€’ Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree (M.S.) or equivalent acquired experience in a discipline such as Imaging Science, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or related fields β€’ Knowledge of image formation process (spectrum, optics/aberrations, PSF, sensor noise, Fourier theory, sampling/aliasing) needed to successfully model and simulate complex imaging phenomena. β€’ Experience and knowledge in developing and tuning Image Signal Processing (ISP) algorithms and pipeline. β€’ Experience coding in languages such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, preferably CUDA, design code for efficiency, and target different platforms such as GPU, Cloud, and other β€’ Experiences in image quality testing of camera systems and familiar with image quality metrics and analysis. β€’ Hands on experience in the development of lab setups for camera system performance study β€’ Experiences in camera calibration and modeling of imaging systems β€’ Familiar with image sensor, imaging optics, and image processing algorithms β€’ Ability to work with minimal direction and managing a project independently from start to finish. Responsibilities: β€’ Develop, validate, and execute state-of-the-art imaging software simulation tools to enable novel camera HW explorations, machine learning dataset generation, and product architecture tasks for consumer products. β€’ Investigate latest imaging simulation methods (e.g. ISET, ZEMAX, non-sequential ray tracing) to enable realistic simulation of real camera behavior for architecture, algorithms, and image quality development for consumer mobile products. β€’ Experiment and data collection to validate simulator accuracy and to improve simulator modeling capability and efficiency. β€’ Build and bring up lab setups for image data acquisition of camera prototypes to support camera design studies. Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of lab equipment. β€’ Develop and document camera test methodologies to support 2D/3D camera system performance analysis. β€’ Develop and debug test scripts for image data collection automation. β€’ Processing, analysis and organizing measurement data; presentation of initial analysis. β€’ Drive supplier interaction and management to deliver camera prototypes in support of concept demonstrations. Must-Have Skills: β€’ Understanding of image formation, capturing, and processing pipeline and techniques β€’ Python/MATLAB programming, shell scripting skills. β€’ Understanding of subjective and objective image quality evaluation metric and testing procedure. Nice-to-have Skills: β€’ Hands on experience in the development of lab setups for camera system performance study. β€’ Experiences in camera calibration and modeling of imaging systems. Years of Experience: β€’ 10+ years of experience. Degrees/Certifications Required: β€’ Bachelors required, Master or PhD preferred. How many rounds of interviews: Minimum 2 rounds of interviews. Types of Interviews: Manager to do a screening, then pass on to the team. Technical interviews. Come prepared to talk about projects they have worked on. Interview Duration: 30-minute screen, 1 hour interview.
