Role description
Database Engineer (contract) PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Database Engineering and Administration: Design, build, configure and maintain Oracle 19c databases in production and non-production Linux/UNIX environments required. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres and/or Cassandra databases is also desirable.
High Availability Disaster Recovery: Maintain and configure Oracle DataGuard in production.
High availability concepts in other database platforms (SQL Server Always-on, Mirroring, Postgres WAL files) desirable. Operating System Familiarity: Comfortable use of both UNIX/Linux and Windows operating system required. Scripting Languages: Scripting in UNIX Shell, PL/SQL and SQL requires.
Windows PowerShell, TSQL experience is also desirable. Backup and Recovery: Familiarity with Oracle RMAN required. Familiarity with backup concepts for other database platforms is also desirable. Security and Compliance: Strict adherence to security standards and compliance policies required. Customer Service: Work closely with business unit employees as well as other support personnel to accomplish projects in a timely professional manner. Provide service to internal customers using a support ticketing system. EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training or experience in Information Technology, Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.
