Lead Data Scientist

Job Title: Lead Data Scientist III Location: Waltham, MA (Hybrid) Job Summary: • Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join their innovative team. This role offers the opportunity to lead multiple data science projects, providing strategic insights that drive impactful decision-making. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to shape the future of data-driven solutions within the organization. Job Responsibilities: • Lead and manage 2-3 data science projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery from start to finish. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, direction, timelines, and deliverables. • Transform data into actionable insights that drive decision-making. • Work closely with both technical and non-technical teams at our client’s location and occasionally with external partners. • Assemble project teams with internal data scientists and external consultants as needed. • Engage in hands-on coding with Python when necessary. Skills Required: • Strong project management, change management, and stakeholder management abilities. • Proficiency in AI/ML tools and techniques, including GenAI/Agentic AI. • Experience with cloud computing platforms, with Azure being a plus. • Master’s degree in a quantitative field, or a Bachelor’s degree with exceptional experience. • Familiarity with statistical analyses and machine learning methodologies. • Effective communication skills for visualization and presentation of data. Preferred Skills: • Experience in the energy or utility sector. • Active participation in data science communities (e.g., GitHub, StackOverflow). • Involvement in data science competitions (e.g., Kaggle). • Knowledge of GIS tools like ArcGIS. • Experience with interactive visualization tools such as PowerBI.
