Lead Developer • Duration: 6 Months • Location: Hybrid (South Wales) • Rate: £650 - £750/day DOE • Status: INSIDE IR35 • Clearance: N/A • Start Date: 1st July (or sooner) Summary My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a lead developer to assist with the expansion and diversification of an application. This will involve large additions to the applications existing features, requiring greenfield style decisions to be made in laying the foundations moving forward. Suitable consultants will need to demonstrate a proven track record in driving forward large scale, public facing applications, using AI tools to accelerate development and deployment. Consultants will also need to demonstrate the ability to build high performance development teams. Key Skills • Demonstrable track record of technical leadership - not just seniority by tenure, but evidence of owning architectural direction, making high-impact decisions, and delivering complex platforms. • Strong ReactJS skills with modern patterns (hooks, context, component composition). This is a React-heavy role in the early months. • Full-stack capability across frontend and backend - comfortable in TypeScript and able to plan and direct work in Golang. • Experience structuring applications for multi-team delivery - micro-frontends, module federation, monorepo tooling, or equivalent approaches to independent deployability. • Proven effective use of agentic coding tools (Claude Code or equivalent). Must be able to demonstrate how they leverage AI tooling to accelerate delivery and drive adoption within a team. • Highly proactive and self-starting - they must thrive in ambiguity and create clarity for others • Excellent communication skills - able to articulate technical trade-offs to architects, product owners, and business stakeholders alike • Willingness to travel to ~4 days/week to build relationships with end users and key stakeholders.
