Role description
Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in cloud data integration. This role focuses on managing the Provisioning Database Interface (PDI) and building robust pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications into Snowflake. Duties Provisioning Database Interface (PDI): Administer and optimize the Provisioning Database (PDB) used in enterprise systems. Data Integration & Pipeline Development: Design and implement data extraction pipelines from Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP/HCM using tools like BICC (BI Cloud Connector) and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). Manage data staging in OCI Object Storage and orchestrate secure, performant data loads into Snowflake using OCI Data Flow, GoldenGate, or custom ETL scripts. Monitor and optimize data transfer performance, ensuring minimal latency and high reliability. Support and troubleshoot SOAP/XML-based provisioning interfaces. Ensure data integrity and synchronization across provisioning systems and downstream consumers. Administer and maintain MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Implement high availability solutions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous access to critical data. Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and OCI-native tools. Migrate on-premises Oracle databases to OCI using tools like Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Data Pump. Develop and manage ETL processes using SSIS for efficient data integration and transformation. Perform database design tasks, including schema creation, indexing strategies, and normalization techniques. Conduct performance tuning of databases to enhance query execution times and overall system responsiveness. Utilize scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell) and PL/SQL for automation of routine tasks and maintenance activities. Monitor database health through regular audits, backups, and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity. Collaborate with development teams to identify database-related issues and implement effective solutions. Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for future reference. Experience Proven experience in database administration with a strong focus on MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar technologies. Experience with OCI services such as Autonomous Database, OCI Compute, Block Storage, and Object Storage. Proficiency in backup and recovery strategies using RMAN. Experience with performance tuning and query optimization. Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and monitoring tools. Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl or similar). Proficiency in performance tuning techniques and troubleshooting database issues. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting for task automation is highly desirable. Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS is a plus. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with 2+ years working with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion data extraction via BICC. Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and ETL tools. Familiarity with OCI services (Object Storage, Data Flow, GoldenGate) and cloud security models. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SOAP/XML provisioning interfaces and Oracle Communications PDI. Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, or Terraform for automation. Oracle or Snowflake certifications (e.g., OCP, SnowPro Core).
