The RDK Academy is a 12-month work-and-learn program that places engineers directly inside Comcast product teams β working on broadband, Wi-Fi, and next-gen entertainment devices.
Youβll split your time between:

Full-time engineering work at Comcast
β
Monthly technical training led by The Innovation Hub
β
Earning your RDK-Certified Engineer credential
This is the fastest entry path into embedded, broadband, and connectivity engineering at a Tier-1 operator.
π§ What Youβll Do:
β’ Youβll get hands-on with real Comcast devices and platforms:
β’ Develop and debug embedded C/C++ code.
β’ Automate testing and analysis using Python.
β’ Work daily in Linux/Unix environments
β’ Contribute to projects using RDK-B, RDK-V/E, containers, AI, telemetry, codecs, IP streaming.
β’ Use modern tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker
β’ Participate in Agile delivery, feature validation, and lab testing.
β’ Youβll learn by doing β building, testing, and shipping technology that reaches millions of homes.
π Training & Development:
Each month, youβll receive structured, real-world technical training in:-
π» Linux, Yocto, and Embedded C/C++
π Broadband tech (DOCSIS 3.1/4.0, Wi-Fi 6/7, routing, networking fundamentals)
π₯ RDK architecture, streaming, GStreamer, and debugging
βοΈ Python scripting & automation frameworks
π€ Generative AI for QA and engineering
π‘ Matter, Zigbee, Bluetooth, and IoT device orchestration
By the end of 12 months, youβll complete a capstone project, earn RDK Certification, and be considered for extension or full-time conversion.
π§ What Weβre Looking For:
π Bachelorβs or Masterβs in CS, EE, or related discipline
π‘ Strong in C/C++ and/or Python
π§ Comfortable working in Linux
π Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals
π¬ Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Bonus points for:
β’ Embedded systems (Raspberry Pi, Arduino)
β’ Streaming/media or IP networking experience
β’ Test automation or scripting tools
β’ Exposure to ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
