Role description
SOFT's client, located in Waltham, MA is seeking an In-House Reporter will act as a key conduit and resource between Business Units and the organization's global communications and brand team. This role is responsible for uncovering compelling stories that resonate with both customer and corporate audiences. The position requires building relationships with stakeholders within New England to uncover opportunities, content production and regular travel across Massachusetts.
Responsibilities Story Discovery & Creation: Identify and develop engaging stories from across the New England Business Unit for internal and external audiences, that align with business unit priorities and our global content strategy.
On-the-Ground Reporting: Travel regularly to locations across Massachusetts to capture stories firsthand across a mix of media, including written, video and audio.
Content production and editing: Produce high-quality written, video, and multimedia content aligned with global brand standards.
Executive Profile Building: Create content that elevates the visibility and thought leadership of the New England President and senior leadership team.
Content Collaboration: Act as a conduit between the New England business unit and the Communications and Brand COE, ensuring local stories align with global messaging and strategy, and key stories are planned in the global content calendar.
Relationship building: Ability to build relationships with and advise senior executives to support content initiatives and the global content strategy.
Strategic planning: Partner with communications, brand, social media and digital content teams to amplify content. Use knowledge of digital channels and audiences to advise on the best types of content to produce.
Performance & Insights: Monitor the performance of content and adapt based on data and insights.
Experienceโช 5+ yearsโ experience in journalism, corporate communications, or content creation.โช Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels.โช Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling content for diverse audiences.โช Excellent writing, interviewing, and editing skills.โช Experience with filming and basic video edits for digital channels.โช Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.โช Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.โช Proficiency in digital marketing and communications, with a good understanding of creating content to meet audience and channel needs.โช Strong understanding of content trends, the current media and cultural landscape.
QualificationsBachelorโs degree in journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
