Job Description: Position Overview: • We are seeking an expert-level Senior AWS Cloud Engineer specializing in comprehensive cost optimization across various services and platforms. • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, exploring, and implementing strategic cost-saving initiatives, with a focus on achieving 2025 Cloud Cost reduction in spending through multiple saving tracks. • Explore all available options to reduce costs across AWS services, including storage (EC2, EBS, S3), compute, and memory, utilizing AWS Savings Plans (SP) and Reserved Instances (RI). • Develop and execute cost-saving solutions within AWS RDS Reservations and Compute Reservations, ensuring efficient resource utilization. • Leverage Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud to perform comprehensive analyses and drive cost-saving decisions. • Discover and assess unused resources across AWS environments, evaluating them as candidates for decommissioning to enhance cost efficiency. • Implement Intelligent Tiering strategies to optimize data storage costs across AWS services. • Evaluate all cloud services to determine if extended support charges are incurred and develop a strategic plan to address and mitigate these costs. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to operationalize comprehensive cost management strategies and ensure alignment with financial goals. • Provide expert insights, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making and enhance cloud financial governance. • Stay informed about AWS and Azure (SP & RI) pricing models, savings plans, and industry best practices to continuously improve optimization efforts. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a proven track record of cost optimization. • Expertise in managing AWS Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, RDS Reservations, and Compute Reservations. • Demonstrable proficiency with Turbonomic, ParkMyCloud, and Intelligent Tiering strategies. • Advanced skills in automation and scripting for comprehensive cloud cost management. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to achieve effective cost-saving solutions. • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
