About the Role
We are seeking Senior Regulatory SMEs with strong experience in SCCL regulatory rules, compliance frameworks, and risk management. These consultants will act as lead Business Analysts/Data Analysts, guiding cross-functional workstreams focused on data sourcing, control mapping, drafting business/functional requirements, and partnering with technology teams for regulatory solution delivery.
This role requires hands-on expertise interpreting regulatory requirements, performing complex data analysis, coordinating with risk and compliance teams, and supporting end-to-end project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory SME / Business Analysis
• Interpret SCCL regulatory requirements and translate them into clear business and functional specifications.
• Work with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology partners to ensure proper understanding and alignment of SCCL obligations.
• Analyze existing policies, procedures, controls, and data sources to identify gaps against SCCL expectations.
• Validate proposed solutions against regulatory demands and internal risk frameworks.
1. Data Analysis & Controls Mapping
• Lead data sourcing and data lineage efforts across multiple systems for SCCL reporting.
• Perform deep-dive analysis into reference data, counterparty data, and exposure datasets.
• Build data dictionaries, transformation rules, and mapping documents.
• Identify control gaps, evaluate control effectiveness, and design enhanced control structures for SCCL compliance.
1. Requirement & Documentation Development
• Draft high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, data requirements, process flows, and user stories.
• Translate regulatory nuances into actionable requirements for technology development teams.
• Support design of reporting solutions, dashboards, and data quality frameworks.
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as a liaison between business teams, risk functions, technology, and governance groups.
• Participate in daily working sessions with data owners and tech developers.
• Support UAT planning, test case creation, and results validation.
1. Project Delivery
• Provide subject-matter leadership across SCCL workstreams.
• Track deliverables, escalate risks, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Support ongoing regulatory examinations and audits as SME.
Required Skills & Experience
• 8–12+ years of experience in Regulatory Reporting, Credit Risk, or Compliance within financial services.
• Strong experience in SCCL, Basel, CCAR, or similar regulatory rule sets (SCCL preferred).
• Proven experience as Business Analyst or Data Analyst on regulatory, data governance, or risk management projects.
• Hands-on experience with data sourcing, lineage, controls assessment, and data quality analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to work on complex datasets (SQL, Excel, or BI tools).
• Excellent documentation skills (BRD, FRD, process flows, data dictionaries).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
