Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst (Cost & Analytics)

Job Title: Senior Staff Analyst, Sourcing Pay rate: $60 Per hour Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Type : W2 contract Duration: 12 months MUST HAVES: • Need to be able to step into the sourcing manager roles, and have interest in doing so • Experience in supplier selection, performance management, cost models, presentations • Skilled in data analysis and presentation of results. Comfortable with data ambiguity and developing clarity across disparate systems. • Experience leveraging AI for this scope. • Ability to handle a high number of concurrent tasks in parallel. Example being launching multiple RFQs and should costs, and during the response time working on other analyzes and projects. • Effective communication skills – written, oral, and presentations. Able to tell a story from data and effectively communicate with visuals. Education: Bachelors in Supply Chain, Analytics, or related business degrees. Day to day : • Analyze supplier performance details and trends • Analyze internal and external cost details to identify opportunities and build strong data driven cases to support cost negotiations • Create cost models for supplier price structures. Develop models detailing impact on variables to cost and profit including things on volume/spend growth and impact on material price changes • Utilize AI in modeling and analysis • Issue RFQs, facilitate & lead auctions, and generate should cost requests • Analyze results from above and provide summary and recommendations to sourcing managers • Develop negotiation fact sets and presentations to support supplier negotiations Additional details: • Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software or components • Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds • This is a highly specialized individual contributor role that requires deep expertise from a professional / technical thought leader in their respective field or discipline • This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent • The role requires expertise within a discipline in a specialized field and provides technical guidance and direction for the area of specialization • Requires strong analytical skills and evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual and qualitative information in complex or novel situations • Requires the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate complex and dynamic material • Typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 6 or more years of experience • Lead data analysis for cost reduction and supplier performance improvements • Analyze supplier performance details and trends • Analyze internal and external cost details to identify opportunities and build strong data driven cases to support cost negotiations • Create cost models for supplier price structures, including variables impacting cost and profit such as volume/spend growth and material price changes • Utilize AI in modeling and analysis • Issue RFQs, facilitate and lead auctions, and generate should cost requests • Analyze results and provide summaries and recommendations to sourcing managers • Develop negotiation fact sets and presentations to support supplier negotiations • 70% current products, 30% NPI Requirements • Position must be located in San Jose, CA • Intended as a pipeline for future sourcing manager roles with expectation and interest to step into such roles • Experience in supplier selection, performance management, cost models, and presentations • Skilled in data analysis and presenting results, with ability to handle data ambiguity across disparate systems • Experience leveraging AI in this scope • Ability to manage a high number of concurrent tasks in parallel (e.g., multiple RFQs, should cost analyses, and simultaneous projects) • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills with the ability to tell a story using data and visuals
