Shopify Backend Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Backend Consultant to support our e-commerce operations with integrations, customizations, and backend development. This role focuses on the technical side of Shopify, enabling seamless workflows between Shopify and third-party systems, improving automation, and ensuring platform stability. Engagement: 6 months (with potential for extension and ongoing support) Key Responsibilities: • Configure and maintain Shopify integrations with third-party systems (ERP, CRM, payment gateways, shipping solutions, etc.). • Develop custom Shopify apps, scripts, or workflows to optimize backend processes. • Support data migration, product import/export, and backend configuration tasks. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting store performance or integrations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, IT) to implement scalable solutions. • Document integration processes, customizations, and backend configurations for ongoing maintenance. Required Skills & Experience: • Proven experience with Shopify backend development and platform integrations. • Proficiency in Shopify APIs, Liquid, webhooks, and custom app development. • Strong understanding of e-commerce workflows and system integrations. • Experience with third-party tools and platforms commonly used with Shopify. • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Python, Node.js, or other backend technologies used in Shopify app development. • Knowledge of database management, ETL processes, or middleware solutions. • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
