Role description
TTP/USC/1099 and W2 candidates only Hybrid – Boston 2 days a week Our client is seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Snowflake Architect/Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Snowflake, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data architecture. You will work closely with Snowflake architecture team to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that meet business analytics and reporting requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of Snowflake’s features and best practices, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities β€’ Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize performance, including query performance, resource utilization, and storage management. β€’ User and Access Management: Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies. β€’ Data Integration: Support and manage data integration processes, including data loading, transformation, and extraction. β€’ Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Snowflake-related issues, including resolving performance bottlenecks and query optimization. β€’ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. Generate and deliver regular reports on system performance and usage. β€’ Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the Snowflake environment. β€’ Best Practices: Stay up to date with Snowflake best practices and industry trends. Recommend and implement improvements and upgrades to enhance system functionality and performance. Qualifications And Experience β€’ 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or database development. β€’ 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and security. β€’ At a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. β€’ Experience with source control tools (GitHub preferred), ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms (AWS preferred). β€’ Experience or exposure to AI tools. β€’ Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and analytics. β€’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. β€’ Experience integrating Snowflake with BI and reporting tools is a plus Required Skills β€’ Strong proficiency in Snowflake architecture, features, and capabilities. β€’ Knowledge of SQL and Snowflake-specific query optimization. β€’ Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes. β€’ Strong proficiency in SQL and Python. β€’ Strong Database design and data modelling experience. Experience with data modeling tools. β€’ Ability to identify and drive continuous improvements. β€’ Strong problem solving and analytical skills. β€’ Demonstrated process-oriented and strategic thinking skills. β€’ Strong motivation and a desire to continuously learn and grow. β€’ Knowledge of Snowflake security features including access control, authentication, authorization, encryption, masking, secure view, etc. β€’ Experience working in AWS cloud environments. β€’ Experience working with Power BI and other BI, data visualization, and reporting tools. β€’ Business requirement gathering and aligning to solutions delivery. β€’ Experience with data integration solutions and tools, data pipelines, and modern ways of automating data using cloud based and on-premises technologies. β€’ Experience integrating Snowflake with an identity and access management program such as Azure IDP is a plus. β€’ Experience with other relational database management systems, cloud data warehouses and big data platforms is a plus. Preferred Skills β€’ Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced Certification). β€’ Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). β€’ Knowledge of technical areas such as T-SQL, DevOps, and scripting.
