A leading client is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer with proven expertise in Microsoft Fabric to join an enterprise-level data transformation program. This is a contract position ideal for a hands-on data professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and has strong experience delivering scalable data solutions using Power BI and the Microsoft Fabric platform.
This role will play a critical part in the design, development, and optimization of end-to-end reporting and data visualization capabilities, aligned with business intelligence goals and cloud-first strategies.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain complex dashboards and reports using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
β’ Leverage Fabric dataflows, OneLake, Direct Lake mode, and other Fabric components to build modern analytics pipelines.
β’ Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure data models meet performance and usability requirements.
β’ Optimize Power BI datasets and reports for scalability, security, and user experience.
β’ Implement row-level security, DAX measures, and calculated columns in line with data governance policies.
β’ Provide technical leadership on Power BI best practices and guide junior developers when required.
β’ Participate in code reviews, data modeling sessions, and Fabric ecosystem alignment across projects.
Requirements:
β’ 7+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics roles.
β’ 6+ years of hands-on Power BI development, including experience with complex DAX, data modeling, and Power Query.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric Data Warehousing, Dataflows Gen2, and integration with OneLake.
β’ Experience working in large-scale data environments using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and other Microsoft Data Platform tools.
β’ Strong understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and security in enterprise BI environments.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certifications.
β’ Previous experience with Fabric in a production enterprise environment.
β’ Knowledge of Agile project methodologies.
