Role description
Consultant Statistician β Real-World Evidence (RWE)
Location: Remote, United States
Engagement: Consultant role supporting a leading biotech/pharma client
We are seeking an experienced RWE / HEOR Consultant to support a client in advancing their real-world data and health outcomes research initiatives. This is a consulting engagement that offers the opportunity to provide high-impact scientific and analytical expertise on multiple projects.
Responsibilities
β’ Lead and support Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) studies, including retrospective database analyses (economic and disease burden, comparative effectiveness, health services research), prospective studies, and patient-reported outcomes.
β’ Develop study designs, protocols, and statistical analysis plans (SAPs), selecting and implementing appropriate statistical methods and advanced analytical models.
β’ Perform analyses using SAS and R, leveraging large healthcare datasets.
β’ Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including CROs, vendors, and consultants, to ensure high-quality project delivery.
β’ Communicate analytical approaches and findings clearly through reports, presentations, and publications.
β’ Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Qualifications
β’ PhD (strongly preferred) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in biotech, pharma, or consulting/CRO settings.
β’ Experience with Real-World Evidence (RWE) and insurance claims data is required.
β’ Proficiency in SAS and R is required.
β’ Experience with Marketscan and/or Optum databases is required.
β’ Demonstrated ability to develop study designs, protocols, and SAPs, and apply advanced statistical or analytical methods.
β’ Experience managing or working with CROs and vendors preferred.
β’ Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
