Role description
Role: Technical Business Analyst Start Date: ASAP Location: Hybrid) in Oak Park Heights, MN; 3 days per week (Wednesday required; other two days flexible). Rate: Up to $60/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled professional with strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and SQL to join our Agile team. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who isn’t afraid to ask questions and can translate business requirements into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Maintain Power BI semantic models and report visuals. β€’ Support and enhance web applications. β€’ Participate as an active member of an Agile/Scrum team. β€’ Elicit requirements from users and perform system/data gap analysis. β€’ Turn user/system requirements into technical designs for developers. β€’ Query data using SQL to identify anomalies and scenarios in datasets. β€’ Create test scripts and perform unit and end-to-end (E2E) testing. Required Skills & Experience: β€’ Proficient in data modeling best practices (star schema, normalization, etc.). β€’ Experience building and maintaining semantic models using Power BI datasets. β€’ Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query. β€’ Understanding of ETL processes and ability to read/debug/troubleshoot. β€’ Ability to elicit requirements and perform system/data gap analysis. β€’ Skilled in SQL querying for data analysis and troubleshooting. β€’ Experience creating test scripts and conducting unit/E2E testing. β€’ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Must-Haves: β€’ Power BI model creation. β€’ SQL querying. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ 5+ years of relevant experience.
