Accela Engineer

Accela Developer Brooksource Remote – Louisville, KY Our client is looking for an Accela Developer to join their team! This role supports the modernization, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of critical applications used across operations. The developer will contribute to custom application development, integration work, and system configuration within Work Order Management and CRM platforms. The objective is to ensure reliable, scalable, and well‑supported systems that improve operational efficiency and service delivery. Required: • Proficiency in JavaScript (ECMAScript 5) and JSON • Experience developing and integrating with APIs • Strong SQL query writing skills • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Ability to collaborate within a fully remote team • Experience performing as both a developer and business analyst • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities • Experience scripting/configuring within a Work Order Management System • Experience scripting/configuring within a CRM system • Experience using version control systems • Ability to fulfill Metro Government access and security requirements • Willingness to participate in occasional onsite work Preferred: • Experience with Accela, OpenGov, Salesforce, CivicPlus, Granicus, Infor Public Sector, or similar platforms • Reporting experience: Crystal Reports, Power BI, SSRS • Understanding of local government business processes • Experience with project management and cross‑functional coordination • Based in or able to commute to the Louisville metro area when needed Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities • Develop, enhance, and maintain custom web applications and web services • Write JavaScript (ES5), API integrations, and SQL queries/stored procedures • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues using debugging tools and root‑cause analysis • Configure, script, and support Work Order Management and CRM systems • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications • Support current applications, including performance monitoring and issue diagnosis • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural improvements • Work closely with developers, analysts, and IT leadership to ensure smooth operations • Document code, configurations, requirements, and technical processes • Assist with planning estimates, timelines, and task breakdowns • Serve as a backup resource for other IT functions as needed ABOUT BROOKSOURCE: At Brooksource, our business is people.
