Role description
Account Strategist
Position Overview
This role serves as a lead and is responsible for retail satisfaction, ensuring experience matches or exceeds their expectation. This position is expected to oversee the creative and merchant relationships and make certain all teams are consistently receiving best in class service, representing the needs and goals within the organization.
The Account Strategist is involved in any pre-production meetings to ensure proper understanding of the scope of the project and also schedule a recap of the project to glean feedback for improvement with the teams. The Account Strategist will enhance the communications, and productivity of projects between the business teams and the creative teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary client contact for strategy, performance reviews, and escalation management, building trusted longterm relationships.
• Develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies across SEM, SEO, PPC (Google Ads), social media advertising (Facebook, LinkedIn), programmatic, display, retargeting, and email/marketing automation.
• Plan campaign strategy and media budgets, including KPI development, media allocation, pacing, and delivery oversight to meet client objectives.
• Lead campaign setup, tagging and measurement implementations using Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Adobe Analytics to ensure accurate tracking.
• Perform ongoing optimization of campaigns (bids, creatives, audiences, landing pages) using CRO and A/B testing methodologies to improve conversion rates and ROI.
• Analyze campaign and customer data using Excel, SQL and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to generate actionable insights and performance reports.
• Create clear, executivelevel reporting and dashboards that communicate results, trends, and recommended next steps to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams (creative, media buying, data science, engineering, and CRM) to execute campaigns and test new strategies.
• Manage project timelines, resource assignments, and stakeholder expectations to ensure highquality, ontime campaign delivery.
• Own forecasting, budgeting and media planning processes, and present business cases for new investments or strategic pivots.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements, knowledge sharing and best practices across accounts.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, ad platform policies, and client contractual requirements while maintaining data integrity and governance.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in account management, client success, or account strategist roles within digital marketing or advertising agencies; 5+ years preferred for senior roles.
• Demonstrable experience planning and executing SEM, SEO, PPC and paid social campaigns; Google Ads certification preferred.
• Strong analytics and measurement skills with handson experience in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and/or Adobe Analytics.
• Proficiency with A/B testing and CRO best practices, landing page optimization and conversion funnel analysis.
• Experience with programmatic advertising, display and retargeting strategies and platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of SQL for data queries and experience building dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot) and CRM systems (Salesforce).
• Experience with reporting, dashboard creation, KPI development, budgeting and media planning.
• Excellent client communication, stakeholder management and project management skills; ability to present complex data clearly to nontechnical audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and ability to translate business goals into measurable digital programs.
• Certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics, or other relevant platforms are a plus.
