Actuarial Data Analyst (Fully Remote)

This position is fully remote / work from home. This is a 12-18 month contract. Compensation: $65-75/hr We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the bridge between complex actuarial data and actionable business insights. Your primary focus will be leveraging Alteryx to design, build, and maintain robust data reporting workflows for both newly launched life insurance and annuity products, as well as our established inforce blocks of business. Responsibilities • Alteryx Workflow Development: Design, build, and optimize efficient Alteryx workflows to blend, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple source systems. • Data Reporting & Analysis: Develop and execute comprehensive data reporting for new life insurance and annuity product launches, as well as inforce blocks of business. • Product Functionality & Policy Value Testing: Analyze balancing and reconciliation reports to validate policy values, transaction histories, and product logic. • Discrepancy Investigation: Identify, document, and research data anomalies, system differences, and calculation variances, collaborating with IT and Actuarial teams to resolve root causes. • Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual Excel-based reporting processes into streamlined, repeatable Alteryx workflows. • Documentation: Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation of data sources, workflow logic, business rules, and quality control checks. Qualifications • Alteryx Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience building complex workflows, parsing data, and automating reports in Alteryx (Alteryx Designer Core/Advanced certification is a strong plus). • Data Manipulation: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including power queries, advanced formulas, and pivot tables) and experience manipulating large datasets. • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of life insurance and annuity products, features, and basic policy-level calculations. • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to reconcile complex data across disparate systems and identify root causes of discrepancies. • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to clearly explain data findings and technical workflows to both technical (IT) and non-technical (business/actuarial) stakeholders.
