Role description
We are seeking an experienced Adobe AEM Developer for a client engagement based in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development, modern web technologies, and Java-based enterprise applications. Candidates must be local to the Boston area and available to work onsite from Day 1.
Adobe AEM Developer
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract
Interview Process: Face-to-Face Interview Required
Candidates must be local to the Boston, MA area
Face-to-face interview is mandatory to confirm onsite availability
Hybrid schedule: 3 days/week onsite
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) applications and components
Create and customize AEM templates, components, dialogs, and workflows
Develop responsive and accessible web pages following WCAG standards
Integrate AEM with third-party systems using RESTful APIs
Configure and maintain AEM Dispatcher for caching and load balancing
Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, UI/UX designers, and QA teams
Troubleshoot application issues using Apache and application server logs
Support AEM platform upgrades, deployments, and ongoing maintenance
Ensure code quality, scalability, and best practices across development efforts
Required Qualifications
6+ years of overall software development experience
2+ years of hands-on Adobe AEM development experience
Strong expertise in:
HTML, HTML5, CSS3
JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
JSON, XML
Bootstrap, SASS/LESS or other CSS preprocessors
Experience developing responsive and accessible web applications (WCAG compliance)
Strong working knowledge of:
Apache Sling
Apache Felix
JCR (Java Content Repository)
OSGi Framework
RESTful Web Services
Proficiency in Java and J2EE technologies
Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring MVC and Hibernate
Hands-on experience with:
JSP
Servlets
HTL (Sightly)
Angular
Experience with:
AEM workflows
Content authoring, publishing, and versioning
AEM upgrades and platform maintenance
Dispatcher configuration and caching strategies
Preferred Skills
Strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience working in Agile development environments
