Role: Advanced Analytics Engineer Location: Bristol / Leeds / London, U.K. Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 Months (Contract) Hiring Type: B2B Contract – Inside IR35 Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Advanced Analytics Engineer to apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems. The role involves building and evaluating classical machine learning models, performing structured experimentation, and assessing AI/LLM-based solutions using tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, and Jupyter. Key Responsibilities • Translate business problems into analytical and machine learning solutions. • Develop, train, and evaluate classical machine learning models using Python. • Perform data preparation, exploration, and analysis using Excel, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks. • Design and execute structured experiments and apply appropriate ML evaluation metrics. • Assess and compare performance of classical ML models and LLM-based solutions. • Document findings and communicate insights to stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience • 7–10 years of experience in Advanced Analytics, Data Science, or Machine Learning. • Strong hands-on experience with Python (NumPy, Scikit-learn). • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data manipulation and analysis. • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation techniques. • Experience working with Jupyter Notebook workflows. • Knowledge of experiment design and model performance metrics. • Exposure to classical ML models and LLM evaluation frameworks. Nice to Have • Experience with Cloud-based ML platforms. • Understanding of prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts. • Experience creating model cards or model documentation. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
