Role description
AI Agent Engineer (Glean/Serval)
Location: Remote work
Duration: 12 Months
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. As this is a Contract-to-Hire role intended for permanent conversion, we are only able to consider candidates who do not require visa sponsorship.
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Agent Engineer who operates at the intersection of Business Strategy and Technical Execution. This role is not just about writing code; it is about architecting intelligent agents that understand enterprise logic and integrate seamlessly into our business ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is an expert in AI orchestration platforms, specifically Glean or Serval, and possesses the technical depth to manage complex content source integrations while maintaining a high-level understanding of business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and deploy sophisticated AI agents that automate business workflows and improve data accessibility.
β’ Act as the internal subject matter expert for Glean and/or Serval, configuring the platforms to meet evolving enterprise needs.
β’ Identify, connect, and optimize diverse content sources (structured and unstructured) within Glean/Serval to ensure agents have access to high-fidelity data.
β’ Translate complex business objectives into deterministic IT logic, ensuring AI solutions are both technically sound and commercially relevant.
β’ Manage the end-to-end development of agentsβfrom story refinement and requirement freezing to production deployment and performance tuning.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
β’ Proven track record of building production-grade AI agents (Agentic workflows, RAG, or Multi-agent systems).
β’ Direct, hands-on experience with Glean or Serval (specifically adding/managing content sources and connectors).
β’ Strong experience in Python (FastAPI/Django) and SQL for data handling and API orchestration.
β’ Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and how to structure information for AI consumption.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Ability to speak authoritatively on AI trends, deterministic routing, and the future of enterprise search.
β’ Exceptional ability to present technical AI concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
β’ This is a Contract-to-Hire position; we are looking for a candidate who is eager to join the team as a long-term internal hire and contribute to our AI roadmap.
