Role description
AI Architect β Autonomous / Agentic AI Systems Hybrid | Basking Ridge, NJ (3 days onsite)
About the Opportunity
A leading enterprise technology team is building the next generation of intelligent systems that move beyond traditional automation into fully autonomous, agent-driven architectures.
We are looking for an experienced AI Architect who can design and lead the development of agentic AI systems capable of reasoning, collaborating, and executing complex workflows with minimal human intervention.
This role sits at the intersection of advanced AI architecture, distributed systems, and real-world enterprise applications. You will help shape the roadmap for how intelligent agents are built, orchestrated, and deployed at scale.
If youβre passionate about building the future of autonomous AI systems rather than simple chatbots or prompts, this role offers a rare opportunity to architect platforms that power real-world intelligent automation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect agent-based AI systems capable of reasoning, tool usage, and autonomous decision-making
Build and scale multi-agent workflows that collaborate to solve complex problems
Define architecture patterns for reliable and observable agentic systems
Implement RAG pipelines and intelligent data retrieval frameworks
Establish guardrails, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop safety mechanisms for AI systems
Drive the evolution from static automation toward adaptive, self-improving agent ecosystems
Mentor engineers and evangelize modern AI architecture patterns across the organization
What Weβre Looking For
Strong experience designing production-grade AI or LLM-based systems
Hands-on experience building agent-based or multi-agent AI architectures
Experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, LangChain Agents, or similar agent orchestration frameworks
Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native architecture
Expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and scalable AI infrastructure
Ability to translate cutting-edge AI research into real-world production systems
Nice to Have
Experience working with telecom or large-scale enterprise platforms
Experience building AI observability, guardrails, or safety systems
Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and memory systems for AI agents
Why This Role Is Unique
Work on real-world autonomous AI systems, not just prompt engineering
Architect multi-agent platforms used in enterprise-scale environments
Help shape the future of agent-driven software systems
Collaborate with teams pushing the boundaries of applied AI
