Role description
Ai Architect
7 Month contract (8/3/2026-3/1/2027)
100% Remote
$115-120/hr. W2
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on AI Architect/Engineer to lead the technical build for our clients Microsoft Copilot Studio program. This is a builder-first role: you should be able to take architectural blueprints and turn them into working, hardened solutions across the Power Platform with minimal oversight. You will design and build copilots and agents, automate workflows, and stand up the components, libraries, and governance patterns that scale the program across our client.
This is not a systems-architect role. The ideal candidate is a βrock starβ engineer who can build virtually anything on the Power Platform, paired with the soft skills to run meetings and communicate directly with the client. Architectural direction and blueprints will be provided; you bring the ability to execute and the confidence to drive conversations with stakeholders.
What You'll Do
β’ Design, build, and harden copilots and AI agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio, from initial prototype through production-ready delivery.
β’ Build and automate end-to-end business workflows using Power Automate, integrating data sources and services.
β’ Develop custom PowerApps and Power Apps flows to support program deliverables and user-facing tooling.
β’ Contribute to the reusable component library, runbooks, and governance/lifecycle documentation that standardize how agents are built and managed.
β’ Support ROI validation, program metrics, and reporting by building the necessary dashboards and views once metrics are defined.
β’ Lead and facilitate client-facing meetings β gathering requirements, defining scope, and clearly communicating technical progress to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Power Platform expertise is the core requirement, in the following priority order:
β’ Power Automate β (Priority 1A) Deep, demonstrable expertise building complex flows and automations. This is the most critical skill.
β’ Power Virtual Agents / Copilot Studio β (Priority 1B) Real experience building conversational agents, ideally predating the Copilot Studio rebrand (i.e., experience from the Power Virtual Agents era rather than only recent, post-hype adoption).
β’ PowerApps β (Priority 2) Strong hands-on experience building PowerApps and Power Apps flows.
β’ A proven βbuild-anythingβ engineering mindset β able to take a blueprint and deliver working solutions independently, without needing every detail spelled out.
β’ Excellent communication and soft skills β able to confidently run and drive meetings with client stakeholders and represent the work professionally.
Nice to Have
β’ Experience running an entire program from a single, unified Power Platform workspace/dashboard.
β’ Familiarity with Power BI and metrics/reporting workflows to complement the broader delivery team.
β’ Prior experience delivering Microsoft-partnered engagements or working within SOW-governed programs.
