Role description
Experience Level: Recent PhD graduates / Ongoing (minimal industry experience preferred) About the Role seeking highly motivated Data Science PhD graduates to support cutting‑edge research in Agentic AI, autonomous systems, and next‑generation AI architectures. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with AT&T’s advanced research teams on exploratory and applied AI projects that push the boundaries of intelligent agent behavior, reasoning, and autonomy. Selected researchers will contribute to AT&T‑assigned research initiatives while also collaborating with our internal teams on joint innovation efforts. Key Responsibilities Conduct research and experimentation in Agentic AI, autonomous agents, multi‑agent systems, and advanced machine learning. Develop prototypes, models, and algorithms to support research objectives. Analyze large‑scale datasets to derive insights and validate research hypotheses. Collaborate with Research scientists and internal stakeholders to design and execute research studies. Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to research and engineering teams. Stay current with emerging research in AI, LLMs, reinforcement learning, and agent‑based modeling. Required Qualifications PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field (recent graduates strongly preferred). Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI research methodologies. Experience with Python and common ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX). Familiarity with LLMs, reinforcement learning, or agent‑based systems. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently in a research‑driven environment.
