Role description
Seeking an AI Developer. Position Summary: Forward-thinking AI Developer to design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence solutions that enhance public services, streamline operations, and support data-driven decision-making. This role will utilize Microsoft Azure AI services to develop intelligent applications that serve the needs of residents, city departments, and leadership. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Design and implement AI/ML models using Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, and Cognitive Services. β€’ Develop and maintain chatbots, document intelligence, predictive analytics, and natural language processing (NLP) solutions. β€’ Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and city departments to identify opportunities for AI integration. β€’ Deploy and monitor AI models using Azure ML pipelines, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). β€’ Ensure AI solutions are secure, ethical, and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. β€’ Document models, workflows, and APIs for internal use and future scalability. β€’ Stay current with AI trends, tools, and best practices, especially within the public sector. Required Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. β€’ 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, preferably in a government or enterprise environment. β€’ Proficiency in Python, Azure AI tools, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow). β€’ Experience with Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Data Lake. β€’ Strong understanding of data privacy, model governance, and AI ethics. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Experience with LLM customization, RAG pipelines, or fine-tuning models in Azure. β€’ Familiarity with Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric β€’ Knowledge of municipal operations, smart city technologies, or civic tech.
