We are seeking an AI Program Lead to help design, develop, and implement this program from the ground up.
Position Summary
The AI Program Lead oversees planning, development, and execution of AI and data initiatives throughout the organization. This role blends hands-on technical work, program management, and cross-team collaboration to create new tools, workflows, and insights that enhance Cashman's operations.
The AI Program Lead will oversee the entire lifecycle of AI-related projects, including data collection, exploratory analysis, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. This role involves supervising one direct report and working closely with the IT Director to ensure AI initiatives align with enterprise systems, infrastructure, and security standards. They will partner with an external AI Consultant to improve technical approaches, validate solution designs, and adopt emerging best practices while maintaining ownership of execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Serve as the primary owner of the companyβs AI and data initiatives, aligning business needs with technical solutions.
β’ Collect, clean, and manage data from internal systems and stakeholders to support analytics and program development.
β’ Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven tools, scripts, and automation solutions using hands-on coding.
β’ Collaborate with construction, engineering, finance, real estate, and tax teams to understand workflows and identify opportunities for AI-driven efficiency and insight.
β’ Translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
β’ Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
β’ Supervise and mentor one direct report, providing technical guidance and performance support.
β’ Support the integration of AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.
β’ Monitor emerging AI technologies and industry trends to evaluate potential applications within the organization.
β’ Prepare documentation, reporting, and presentations to communicate progress, outcomes, and recommendations to leadership.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
β’ Approximately five or more years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, AI, or related technical roles.
β’ Demonstrated hands-on coding experience with modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code/Copilot on software projects.
β’ Experience with Python and JavaScript preferred.
β’ Experience working with data pipelines, APIs, and analytical tools.
β’ Experience managing projects and supervising team members.
β’ Consulting or having a stakeholder-facing experience is strongly preferred.
β’ Strong understanding of data structures, statistics, and applied analytics.
β’ Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
β’ Ability to work independently, take initiative, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Experience in construction, engineering, real estate, or industrial environments is a plus but not required.
β’ Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment; and communicate effectively with others. The employee may be required to stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The role is primarily based in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Occasional visits to project sites or operational areas may be required, which may involve walking on uneven surfaces and navigating active work environments. The employee must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
β’ This is a full-time, in-office position based in Quincy, Massachusetts. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional additional hours required to meet project deadlines.
Compensation
β’ The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000, depending on experience, technical expertise, and qualifications. This role is eligible for participation in Cashmanβs annual performance-based bonus program.
