About the Role
This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, C2H, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B or OPT) for this position

FDM is seeking a AI/ML Engineer located in or around Jersey City, NJ, Whitehouse Station, NJ, Philadelphia, PA or Simbury, CT to support a project in the Insurance sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 1 year but may be extended.
β’ Collaborate with business partners and peers within the organization to understand and scope the problem, gather business requirements, and facilitate the data integration process.
β’ Work closely with team of data scientists to implement and test machine learning models to solve complex business challenges on Azure platform.
β’ Research & implement state of the art modeling approaches including but not limited to zero-shot/few-shot learning, embedding techniques, fine-tuning etc.
β’ Ensure high quality code that meets business objectives, quality standards and secure web development guidelines.
β’ Integrate with data / document sources using APIs and / or data pipelines.
β’ Create excellent working relationships with business partners across the Chubb organization, IT and Analytics peer groups.
β’ Effectively communicate with key stakeholders in written, oral and presentation formats.
About You
β’ 3+ yearsβ experience in Machine Learning (ML), with deep expertise in writing, and reviewing production code in Python.
β’ Knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries (such as TensorFlow/Pytorch), and exposure to various ML algorithms and their practical implementation in production at large scale.
β’ Experience with designing scalable end-to-end Machine Learning/NLP systems.
β’ Experience on distributed, high throughput and low latency architecture.
β’ Understanding of NLP techniques around text cleaning/pre-processing, entity extraction, encoder-decoder architectures, similarity matching etc.
β’ Experience building software on top of containerization technology (Kubernetes, Docker etc.), and familiarity with frameworks/tools such as FastAPI, Uvicorn.
β’ Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
β’ Experience with architecting and consuming APIs in a scalable (multi-threaded/batched) fashion.
β’ Ability to multi-task, learn new things quickly, and have excellent problem solving & communication skills.
β’ A mindset for collaboration, knowledge sharing and keeping up to date on emerging industry trends.
β’ Appetite for learning and keeping up to date on the latest generative AI technologies and processes
β’ Preferred
β’ Comfortable with command line (Linux, Windows) scripting.
β’ Familiarity with Prompt Engineering
β’ Familiarity with generative AI techniques, such as GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), VAEs (Variational Autoencoders), or other generative models.
β’ Nice To Have
β’ Experience with at least one other programming language (R, Julia, Scala, Go, Java, C++).
β’ Exposure to technologies such as DBT, Apache AirFlow or Luigi.
β’ Working knowledge of containers, specifically Dockerizing APIs.
β’ Exposure to CI-CD pipelines.
β’ Comfortable with at least one NoSQL database (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, CosmosDB, etc.).
β’ Education
β’ Bachelorβs / Masterβs degree in a technical field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
Preferred
β’ Comfortable with command line (Linux, Windows) scripting.
