Role description
Job Title: AI/ML Engineer – Healthcare NLP Location: Dublin, OH (Onsite) Duration: 6 months Experience Required: 5+ years Role Description: We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and healthcare data extraction. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing, integrating, and deploying LLM-based models in cloud environments such as Azure and Databricks. You will work closely with data scientists, clinicians, and software engineers to design intelligent solutions for clinical text understanding, summarization, and entity extraction, while ensuring security and compliance with healthcare data standards. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and deploy NLP pipelines for healthcare data analysis and extraction. • Integrate Azure Cognitive Services, Databricks, and SQL Server for data processing and model deployment. • Leverage offline open-weight models and Databricks Foundational Model Integration for real-world use cases. • Implement Claude API and third-party NLP libraries to enhance performance and scalability. • Perform fine-tuning of LLMs and prompt engineering for domain-specific optimization. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate healthcare requirements into AI-driven solutions. • Ensure secure and compliant handling of clinical data during all phases of development. Required Skills: • 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, particularly NLP. • Proficiency with Python and NLP frameworks such as spaCy, Hugging Face, and NLTK. • Strong experience with Azure Cognitive Services, Databricks, and SQL Server. • Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and model deployment to production. • Experience in clinical NLP, healthcare data extraction, and processing of unstructured text data. Good to Have: • Experience with Claude API, RAG architecture, or vector database integrations. • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and FHIR. • Experience collaborating with cross-functional AI/healthcare teams.
