GoAhead Solutions has an immediate need for a Alation Data Engineer. This would be a Six to Twelve month contract to start out. This would be an onsite position.
Job Description:
• Should be able to own the enterprise rollout and implementation of Alation, Manta, and Ataccama/BigEye across multiple LoBs, enforcing metadata, lineage, and data quality standards.
• Alation developer who has worked on the tool and can do alation analytics and build api s.
• Should be able to design and maintain Python-based automations for metadata onboarding, MDE job orchestration, lineage ingestion, and Alation API integrations with robust logging and audits.
• Should be able to establish and operationalize CDE/DCBP frameworks, mapping policy to controls, defining ownership models, and driving steward workflows and approvals.
• Should be able to implement repeatable, Excel-configured metadata ingestion pipelines using Alation integration endpoints to onboard schemas, tables, and columns efficiently.
• Should be able to integrate and validate lineage via Manta APIs, reconcile logical vs. physical assets/dataflows, and close lineage gaps with platform/app teams.
• Should be able to lead business-term rationalization with stewards/architects, standardize attributes (PII, sensitivity, data class, SOO/EOO), and automate cross-system reconciliation.
• Should be able to publish governance observability (dashboards, audit logs, job trackers) covering job status, schedule adherence, exceptions, and SLA compliance.
